Week 1: Five Senses July 13 - 17

 

​Welcome to Summer School! This week, children will learn about the human body’s five senses—sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch—and how these senses shape their world through explorations of art and science..

Week 2: Crossing Dimensions July 21 - 24

​

Create beyond 2D using materials like clay, foam, loose parts, and more. From cityscapes to pottery, children will have the opportunity to learn about the creativity and engineering that goes hand-in-hand with 3D works.​

 

Week 3: Ocean Blue July 27 -  31

​

Have you ever wondered what animals live in Tokyo Bay? How cold is the sea at Hakodate? Join us as we learn about the ocean surrounding Japan through art, dramatic play, sensory exploration, and more.

Week 4: Music & Movement Aug 3 - 7

 

Let’s get up and move! From yoga to fingerplays and dance parties, children will have the opportunity to learn about kinetic expressions of creativity while also strengthening their motor skills.

Week 5: My Own Story: My Family & Me  Aug 10 - 14

 

​For many children, family provides love, warmth, and security. We will share the things that make our families special to us through art, music, dramatic play and more. Please be prepared to bring your favorite family photo to show everyone!

 

Week 6: 20th Century Art Icons Aug 17 - 21

 

​This week, we will explore the works of five iconic artists—Piet Mondrian, Henri Matisse, Eric Carle, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Keith Haring—whose works not only defined an era but also continue to inspire creatives across art, music, fashion, and beyond.​​​​​​
